Country & payment-method limits

My OpenRouter account was limited right after a crypto top-up and the balance is locked. What can I do?

Several people reported this on OpenRouter's Discord in September 2026: a crypto top-up goes through, the account is limited shortly after, the balance is locked, and the refund ticket goes unanswered. OpenRouter has not published why these accounts are limited, so we will not guess at the cause, and you should be wary of anyone who claims to know it.

What you can do is give OpenRouter support everything they need in one place. Open one ticket and include the transaction hash of the crypto payment, the payment link or payment ID OpenRouter generated, the amount and the UTC time, the email on the account, and a plain description of what the account shows now. Reply on that ticket rather than opening new ones, and keep your own copy of the details.

What not to do: do not top up again to test whether the account still works, because a second payment can land behind the same limit; do not create a second account, because that tends to make a review harder rather than easier; and do not send a crypto payment expecting it back, because OpenRouter states that cryptocurrency payments are never refundable.

What nobody outside OpenRouter can do: ROZO cannot unlock an OpenRouter account, cannot see or move its balance, and cannot refund a crypto purchase, whether it was paid on the Coinbase page or through us. Account limits are OpenRouter's decision and only OpenRouter support can review one. ROZO is independent and not affiliated with OpenRouter or Coinbase.

Steps to check

  1. Collect the transaction hash, the payment link or payment ID, the amount, the UTC time and the account email.
  2. Open one ticket with OpenRouter support containing all of it and describe exactly what the account shows.
  3. Reply on that same ticket instead of opening new ones, and keep a copy of everything you sent.
  4. Do not top up again and do not create a second account while the limit is in place.
  5. Check how you paid before asking for a refund: OpenRouter states cryptocurrency payments are never refundable.

Frequently asked questions

Can ROZO unlock my account or release the balance?
No. We have no access to OpenRouter accounts or balances. A limit is OpenRouter's decision and only their support can review it.
Can I get the crypto payment refunded?
OpenRouter states that cryptocurrency payments are never refundable. ROZO cannot refund an OpenRouter purchase either, because the credits are issued by OpenRouter. Ask OpenRouter support what they can do about the locked balance, and put the transaction hash in the ticket.
Will paying again, or from a new account, get me unstuck?
Nothing we have seen suggests so, and both carry a cost: a second payment can end up behind the same limit, and a second account can complicate the review of the first.
Why was my account limited?
OpenRouter has not published the cause. Only OpenRouter support can tell you what applies to your account.
